TOUR DESCRIPTION
THE MEDINA OF FES
Founded in 789, Fes is Morocco’s oldest capital and home to the largest medina.
Fes’s Medina is the largest pedestrian-only zone and the best preserved medieval settlement in the world.
The Fassis, the people of Fes, still go about their daily life as they would have done in the middle ages.
Donkeys and mules still transport goods on the 9,000 alleyways of the medina, of which more than a third are a dead-end.
The Medina of Fes is home to the largest concentration of skilled artisans in the country and rightly deserves its name as “The Spiritual and Handicraft Capital of Morocco.”
