ESSAOUIRA

Also known as Mogador, Essaouira is a true gem on the Atlantic coast.

Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Argania Forest, Essaouira is a 16th century fort famous for its Manuelism architecture and its medina, which is built so close to the ocean.

Today we will spot tree climbing goats in the Argan Forest and visit a feminine Argan cooperative to learn about the age old techniques of making Argan oil.

Morocco is the only country in the world that is home to the native Argana tree, from which Argan oil is conceived. Argan trees only grow in this region.

In Essaouira, we’ll roam the medina and take in the views of the medina from the Sqala tower.

No visit to Marrakech is complete without a day trip to Essaouira.
