Upon arrival to Casablanca, your expert guide and driver will be at the airport waiting for you.
After check-in to your hotel, freshen up, and meet your guide at the lobby for a welcome reception.
You’ll then head out for an evening drive and welcome dinner.
Today, you’ll visit the majestic Hassan II Mosque and the art-deco Notre Dame du Lourdes. Two of Casablanca’s must see monuments. Drive along the corniche and cross the Anfa Quarter on our way to Rabat.
In Rabat, we visit the royal palace and necropolis before we head for lunch at a 14th century riad. After lunch, we visit the Andalusian gardens of the Kasbah of the Udayas and head to Fes.
We’ll stop in Meknes on the way, to admire the ornate Bab Al Mansour Gate.
*A visit to the Roman ruins of Vollubilis can be added to the program upon request.
Fes is the spiritual and handicraft capital of Morocco. The medina of Fes is home to the oldest university in the world, the Qaraouiyine University and the 9th century Chouara tannery.
Known as “The Athens of Africa” and “Mecca of the West”, this medina is the world’s largest pedestrian zone and fortified city in the world. Life in Fes still goes on in the same ways as it did in the Middle Ages.
Today, we learn about Moroccan handicrafts and the skilled craftsmen of Fes and explore the overflowing, colorful, and lively souks of the most authentic medina in Morocco.
Today we cross the largest cedar forest in the country, take in the views of snowcapped mountains, and drive through the Ziz oasis on our way to the Sahara.
You will witness an impressive change in landscape in one day.
Upon arrival to Merzouga, you’ll cross the golden dunes on camelback and gaze at the majestic sunset on your way to your luxury camp.
Enjoy an evening of unparalleled stargazing and dance to touareg beats around a campfire.
Listen to the silence of the desert morning and explore the dunes of Erg Chebbi in a 4×4 vehicle.
Learn about the fossils of Erfoud and drive to the impressive Tinghir Oasis, where we visit the Toudra Gorges.
In Tinghir we visit a local Berber art gallery to learn about the customs of the Touareg and their nomadic culture.
This morning we visit a Berber family in a traditional Kasbah to witness a traditional tea ceremony and learn about the art of building with adobe.
Drive past the 1000 Kasbahs on our way to Kasbah Ait Benahddou, before we cross the snowcapped High Atlas Mountains, via the Tizi N Tishka Pass, the highest mountain pass Africa, to Marrakech.
Explore Marrakech the traditional way, on horse carriage. Your will be lead deep into the narrow streets and souks of the medina and exposed to the colorful heritage of Marrakech.
Visit the Majorel Gardens and impressive Bahia Palace. Learn about the myriad of Berber spices and take in the beauty of authentic craftsmanship, at an impressive artisanal gallery.
Visit the Jamaa el Fna Square and lose yourself in the ecstatic energy of this incredible gathering of spectacles, food stalls, and folklore. A remarkable change from the silence of the desert.
Tonight, we head to the Palmeraie of Marrakech to enjoy the delicacies of Moroccan cuisine and witness an entrancing display of Berber folklore and impressive show of Berber horsemanship.
Drive west to Essaouira, a whitewashed town of rich Portuguese heritage and architecture, on the Atlantic coast.
Essaouira is world famous for its Thuya wood crafts and Argan oil. On our way to Essaouira, we’ll cross the Argan forest and visit a local feminine cooperative. Learn about and pick up the purest natural moisturizer known to man.
Visit the fortified Sqala port of Essaouira and witness the sunset over the Atlantic on your Riad’s panoramic terrace, as seagulls glide by on the winds of the crashing waves.
To Safi and onwards to Oualidia and Casablanca, our drive today will see us drive through the rocky coast of the Atlantic and past the phosphate Port of Jorf Lesfar.
We’ll stop in Oualidia, famous for its oysters, for a seafood lunch before we continue to Casablanca.
Tonight, we leave for our farewell dinner at the world-famous Rick’s Café of Casablanca.
